Too little for the money

I use my rope lights to illuminate the inside of my Gazebo roof. This product has enough stretch in it to allow me to run the string around the edge and up to the peak and back on two sides. Since I bought two lengths, my gazebo looks great and provides just the right amount of light, not too much and not too little.
The only issue I found is that the instructions say that the first 5 feet are wiring and there are no lights in that portion, so I hung both strings, in the daytime, with that in mind. It takes a good 7 or 8 hours to fully charge, and when the lights came on, there is no void area at all. That forced me to re-hang both strings of lights. If everything I buy has only that kind of issue, I am golden!

Just got this item.Easy to assemble and install. Great length. Lights are not very bright but on a dark night they will help. Not using them to "light up" the patio just to lighten the dark. Rather cheaply made, if they cost less I would buy more. The old saying "you get what you pay for".....well I paid far more than I got. Had to open the solar panel as the glue had become disconnected and was rattling around inside. Not sure I would give them as a gift.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    I charged it for two days before turning it on the first time. It works great - turns on automatically as light fades and runs for hours and hours (checked them at 3am and they were going strong). Power cord is pretty thin, but seems fine. The weather-protecting "shield" that houses the lights is soft, flexible, and somewhat diffusing (i.e. a bit like etched glass). It's a nice effect when compared to a typical plastic hose you might find at a hardware store. I'm very pleased overall, but haven't tried charging it in areas with partial shade yet.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
